I’m pleased to announce that Michelle has accepted the position of VP of Marketing at XXXX, has reported to work and she loves it there! Michelle came to us, having recently moved to the U.S from another country. She had just gotten married. Her challenge was that she had been with the same employer for the last 11 years, rising from Branch Manager to Director of Marketing Integration, and hadn’t ever really looked for a job. Her career had been in banking and financial services, and her preference was to remain in a similar industry while using her Marketing and Sales leadership experience. She was open to relocating, but wanted to be in a warm-weather area.
Together we worked on articulating her achievements and successes, and her interview skills including using her SHARE stories and closing the interview. She came to Phoenix in mid-January where we conducted several recorded interviews, and she received detailed feedback. She followed our recommended job search activities and was very active in networking and interviewing with a variety of companies.
This particular VP of Marketing opportunity she found online, applied, and within days had a phone interview with HR. She was told that she was one of a select few chosen from 200 resumes received, and that her SC&C resume really stood out from the group.
Within days of her phone interview, she had a Skype interview with the COO (her hiring authority), and within days of that they flew her to company headquarters for on-site interviews. She was asked to meet the creative agency team, and the very next day she received the offer directly from the CEO. The CEO told her that, in his entire career, he had never interviewed just one person and then hired that person!
Michelle feels that her extensive preparation, the “product knowledge” she gained from our worksheet process and the Phoenix interview practice sessions gave her a high level of confidence in her real interviews, and that she was able to be herself and really connect with her interviewers. She and her husband bought a new house that is literally only a 45-second commute to her office, and she is absolutely thrilled at the fabulous results she received from our program.
Thank you to Mike Fox for doing all three of her documents (resume, cover letter, WebFolio©), to Shanti Brown for your calling efforts, and to Ron Venckus for your work with Michelle during her Phoenix visit. I know you all will join me in congratulating Michelle!
