Here is a note from Bill Temple, Susan’s SC&C Campaign Director. ” Susan came to us having decided to leave her employer due to a corporate restructure that would have required her to take a step back in the organization. In addition, she was looking for a new challenge and wanted to explore other options. Susan had been promoted throughout her career, spending 20 years with the same company, so had little understanding of the networking and interview process. She came to us for that assistance.
Susan’s attitude was one of “let’s find a way to make it work!” She attacked her assignments with optimism and a desire to learn, she asked great questions, and took direction like the pro … Read More

Tom D., an alumni of the SC&C Executive Placement program wrote the following note to his Oliver Cornell, his Career Consultant and George Stecyk, his Campaign Director.
“Greetings Oliver & George: Last night I watched a very compelling “60 Minutes” segment about long-term unemployed professionals.
The news episode brought back many memories of my own unemployment period that started about one year ago and lasted a relatively short six months. I am writing to thank you again for your compassion, guidance, support and strategy to help me re-invent myself. I know for a fact that my short unemployment period (6 months total, 90 days after starting with SCC) is due in large part to the Stewart, Cooper, … Read More
Bill’s career in architecture spanned more than 30 years when in August of 2010, his firm, hit hard by the drop in construction and lack of new projects, had to downsize and Bill was part of their RIF. He immediately began a job search with low but hopeful expectations in a difficult market. Firms that were hiring at the time preferred contractors or younger architects with lower salaries. As many executives in his demographic do, Bill decided to start an independent practice to generate income. Work was spotty and he continued his job search.
Finally, a year after losing his job, Bill was introduced to Laura Gabel, an Executive Career Consultant with Stewart, Cooper & Coon. Bill had a … Read More

Tom came to SCC to determine where his skills could be applied and how to communicate that value to a variety of new markets. Through assessment of his background, his behavioral competencies, and the conditions behind his current situation, his coach, Bill Temple, built a communication strategy that highlighted his exceptional leadership and organizational skills in order to attract the necessary attention, both in written and oral communications. Bill provided Tom with insights on how people address “bad” news and how one can … Read More
